bo's pets

current furry friends—

leo
Male brown spotted/mackerel tabby, born in May 2001.  Feral until 7 months of age, Leo still has lingering insecurity and fear/attachment issues.  Nevertheless, he is a wonderful being...intelligent, playful, sweet, stubborn, responsive, social, and actually quite "dog-like" for a cat.

schuyler
Female dilute (blue/apricot/cream) tortie-tabby, born in February 1992.  Schuyler can be very affectionate and sweet (she's been known to lick my face)...yet she's fiercely independent, opportunistic, conceited, and completely confident.  Schuyler understands how beautiful she is, and believes that she's better than everyone else.  Heh...she may very well be right. ;)

pets who have passed on—

chauncey (1986-2000)
Male brown mackerel tabby, with perfectly symmetrical markings.  Chauncey was larger than life—the most amazing, perfect being of all time.

He is and always will be my best friend and soulmate.

In this incarnation:  born in May 1986... entered my life on July 26, 1986... crossed over on December 9, 2000...

rutledge (1989-1991)
Male silver spotted tabby.  Physically beautiful, but plagued by health problems (diabetic, hormonally unbalanced, completely neurotic).  He was a tortured soul, not long for this world...

Rutledge toward the end of his short life, bloated from insulin shots (1991)

daisy (1972-1986)
Female mixed breed (part siberian husky and who knows what else).  Daisy was not much of a looker on the outside, but she did have a lovely beautiful soul.  She good-naturedly took all of the "abuse" we bratty kids could dish out.

smoky (1971-??)
Male german shepherd/border collie.  Smoky ran away and/or was abducted when he was still a young dog (2 to 3 years old).  Just about every day for just about a year after Smoky disappeared, whenever I returned home from somewhere, I expected to see him waiting out on the front porch.  Unfortunately, though, he never made his way back to us.  I only hope that he found a nice new home and enjoyed a long happy life (but I fear that he may have met a horrific fate in a research lab...).

mister (1958-1972)
Male laborador retriever/cocker spaniel.  Mister was a great and loyal friend to me all through my childhood and early adolescence.  My parents had gotten him before I was born, and when I arrived, he took me under his wingpaw (he would sleep under my crib for "protection").  I believe that Mister and I communicated on a psychic level when I was a baby.  Sadly, we lost him when I was in 7th grade.
